Location:  Found on or near bottom

Social Behavior:  Solo, but will share a hole with a lingcod.

Rough Day:  Stays in hole or goes deeper

Calm Day:  Hunts more and goes shallow.
 
Best Place to find them:  Cracks (#1 place) They hang around small holes or boulders.
 
2nd Best place to find:  Laying around near food source - (A-B-A-L-O-N-E) Small Ab shells laying around

How you know they're near?:  School rockfish with visible bite-marks

Likes:  Surgey areas that bring food To lay out in the sun To eat abalone whole 

How to attract?:  Abalone guts
 
Reaction to a gunshot:  Runs to hole or crack

Will tolerate:  Living with lings

Hates:  Noise, Proximity of diver, Lack of food

Meet Strategy:  Very elusive. Go for cabs living in cracks first.

How to hunt:  Cracks or small holes

Depths to hunt:  10 feet or deeper on bottom

Always remember:  They are impossible to catch up with! Even fat cabs are fast!
Find a narrow horizontal crack and find a cab.
